Faith Riders / Hope Mobile Meals
The Knoxville Faith Rider's chapter was started under the direction of Kent and Gale Mixson. Combining the love of riding motorcycles, fellowship, and serving others, the Faith Rider's ministry at Grassy Valley is an intentional evangelistic outreach. Monthly rides and outings give way to evangelizing a group of people who are often shunned, ignored, or even feared. The Faith Riders theme verse is, 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance." Hope Mobile Meals came into existence when Kent and Gale felt a burden to combine the motorcycle ministry with feeding the homeless. As a subsidiary of the Faith Riders Ministry here at Grassy Valley, the Hope Mobile Meals food trailer has been used on several occasions to feed the homeless in abandoned parking lots, the poor and hungry in different parts of Knoxville and it has been used to feed bikers as they finish riding the "Tail of the Dragon" in Maryville, TN. Both ministries united as one, meet the physical need, so the spiritual need can also be met.
