Dear Friend:

Thank you for your participation in previous consignment sale at Grassy Valley Baptist Church.    The spring sale dates are Thursday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19, 2008. 

 

Please contact Heather Price at heatherprice@grassyvalley.org or call the church at 693-1741 and I will coordinate getting the sale supplies to you.   Attached you will find guidelines for the sale.

 

Please advertise the sale to your friends and neighbors.  Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Mission programs supported by Grassy Valley Baptist.

 Guidelines

Guidelines for Participants

 

  1. You will need a number to participate.  If you have a number from other Consignment sales throughout the community, we will try to issue you the same number.

  2. There is a $6 participant fee, which includes 50 price tags.  If you have more than 50 items, you will need to purchase additional tags at 50 for $1.00.  There is no limit to the number of items you can bring; however, we do require at least 45 items to participate. The $6 registration fee is to be paid when you sign up for the sale.

  3. The sale will be open to the public on Friday and Saturday.  There will be a special participants’ sale on Thursday evening from 7 PM until 9 PM.

  4. Each participant is required to volunteer at least 3 hours of work during the sale period.

  5. During the Saturday sale, all clothing/items will be sold at half price unless otherwise noted with a red dot on the tag.

  6. Each participant will receive 70% of everything they sale, including half price items.  The other 30% will go to the Mission Committee at Grassy Valley Baptist Church.  Items priced at $100 and over will be consigned at 90% to the Seller and 10% to the church.  Your check will be mailed to you about three to four weeks following the sale.

  7. If for some reason you do not make your work shift, the consign amount will be reduced to a 50/50 split.

  8. All clothing must be attached to a hanger with safety pins only (we recommend that you do not use rusty pins or the small gold safety pins).  Jeans and pants must be hung straight and attached with safety pins.  This allows the buyer to inspect the knees, front and back.  Small items can be grouped together in plastic bags.  Nothing under $1.00 will be accepted.

  9. The hangers need to be facing the left for easy hanging. 

  10. All items must have our two-part tag attached.  Please write clearly and make figures large enough to be read correctly.

  11. Our tags must be used to be accepted at the sale.

  12. The tag should have your participant’s number, a description of an item, size and price.  Please write in ink.  Please be sure to write clearly and correctly.  If there is any doubt to the price or participant’s number we will have to use our best judgment.

  13. The tag must be placed on the left side of the garment in the area that would be over the heart.

  14. If you do not want an item to be sold for half price on Saturday, please mark the tag of the item with a red dot on both parts of the tag.

  15. Price in whole prices from a dollar up, i.e. $1, $2, $3 and so on.

  16. Only clothes/items in good condition and or good working order will be accepted.  If items not fitting that description are found, they will be pulled and donated to a charity.
  17. When you arrive to drop off your items at your designated time, please sign in at the appropriate area and wait while your items are inspected.  Please have your clothing counted and separated by size and whether it is boy or girl.  Each sex/size designation needs to be held together with a rubber band around the hanger hook.  Please do not bring your items to the multipurpose room until this has been completed.

  18. We will accept sizes newborn through preteen.  Please do not bring girls’ junior sizes or any adult clothing.  If these items are found, they will be pulled and donated.

  19. All clothing left after 3:00 PM on Saturday will be donated to a charity.  No exceptions.  You may have someone else pick up your items for you.   Please be on time to pick up your items so that we can get the multipurpose room in order for Sunday service.

  20. Please do not bring breast pumps, car seats, pierced earrings or recorded videos to sale.

  21. Due to room constraints we cannot accept twin or full size beds.  Baby beds and toddler beds are acceptable as long as they are stacked and strapped together.

  22. If you bring games or puzzles, please be sure that all the pieces are together and it is in good working order.

You must have an invitation to attend the participant’s sale on Thursday.  This is a special sale limited to participants. However, if you can’t attend the sale, please pass your invitation to someone else.

Suggested Sale Items: Clothing, maternity clothes, shoes, toys, books, videos, cassette tapes/CDs, games, puzzles, baby beds, strollers, high chairs, bicycles, outdoor playing equipment, etc.
